We had a lot of requests to make our monster center channel in an on-wall version. It had to maintain the capability of delivering spine-tingling clarity in voices, regardless of the size of room or distance from the screen. You wanted it to play loud, be amazingly accurate, and do all this while being able to hang on the wall.

You've never heard or seen anything like this speaker before: a no-compromise center channel that will thrill you with powerful dynamics, bass and musical transparency. The VP180 on-wall unleashes a magical performance, offering the truest presentation of a movie or music soundtrack, exactly as the recording engineers intended.

This center is the perfect mate to Axiom's M80, M80 on-wall or M100 tower speakers, or the LFR880 or LFR1100 omnidirectional speakers, but it can also be coupled with all speakers to deliver the level of high-fidelity and transparency your system deserves.

The VP180 on-wall uses six drivers: two 6.5-inch aluminum-cone woofers, two 5.25-inch aluminum midwoofers, and two 1-inch titanium dome tweeters in a horizontal array arrived at after months of listening tests to music and dialogue program sources, on- and off-axis. All this is contained within an acoustic suspension cabinet, with a 4-ohm impedance.

The VP180 on-wall cabinet mounts to your wall using our unique Power Bracket that allows you to wire the bracket and make the electrical connection by just hanging the VP180 on-wall on the bracket. Your VP180 on-wall works best either right below or above your TV.

Supercharge your home theater with the VP180 on-wall - audition it in your home theater with our 30-day in-home trial. Includes a five-year warranty and free shipping!

Questions We Get All the Time

What brand of AV receiver should I consider to drive the 4-ohm M80 loudspeakers?

For rooms up to 4,000 cu. ft in volume (length x width x height), Axiom has found that receivers from: Denon, NAD, Outlaw Audio, Sherwood Newcastle, Harman/Kardon, Rotel, B&K, Pioneer Elite, high-end Onkyo ($800 and up) and high-end Yamaha ($1000-plus) are the most stable and will make these speakers sing. Buyers who have "great rooms" or those with cathedral ceilings or who want movie-theater-loud playback levels in such rooms should consider using separate outboard power amplifiers for at least the M80s.

Why 4-ohm Impedance?

The impedance is not chosen by the speaker designer. The impedance is determined by the number of drivers in the speaker (an M80 has six) and the complexity of the crossover network. To try and make the M80 an 8-ohm speaker would degrade its sound quality and result in power losses.

Benefits associated with 4-ohm Impedance?

Impedance is an electrical trait. If the receiver or amplifier is stable into 4-ohm loads, it will be able to "pull" more power, up to twice as much, from the amplifier than an 8-ohm speaker.

Why dual tweeters?

Dual tweeters (and dual midranges and woofers) are used in the M80's to greatly increase maximum power handling (volume) and lower distortion at very loud playback levels.
